1) Get some form of EM
- Cobb Access Port is a good place to start IMO
- Immediately upgrade to Stage 1 with all stock setup
- Gauges: minimally boost, wide-band o2, EGT...

2) Get a Turbo-Back-Exhaust System (TBE)
- There are a variety of methods for this
- Quiet: Turbo-XS Stealth Back
- Don't Care: any vendor out there really

3) Upon installation of TBE, Use Cobb Access Port to upgrade to Stage 2
- You'll also want to seriously consider Group-N Motor Mounts at this point
- Pitch-stop & Tranny mount too if you're so inclined

4) Work on suspension upgrades
- 0 toe all around, ~1.5* negative camber up front, more if you can get it
- Some form of Camber adjustability up front
-- RCE Camber plates or Camber Bolts
- Whiteline or other Anti-Lift Kit
- RCE Street/Track, Tanabe GF-210s, or JDM STI Pink, drop springs
-- Ohlins Fixed perch struts (if you can afford it, not required, but definitely nice)
-- be sure to get Group-N Strut tops at a minimum
- Whiteline or other Sway Bar upgrade

IMO with a garden variety stage 2 setup, gauges are eye candy. Considering the cost, I would not count them as a priority for functional use.

Double check first to make sure you don't already have 05 style mounts, since not all 06's came with the liquid filled plastic ones. Group-N's are nice, but I probably wouldn't blow the $$ on them if I didn't need to replace the plastic mounts.

4) Work on suspension upgrades
One thing to add to this -- start lubing the rear struts every oil change, whether you hear them clunking yet or not. It's just a matter of time.

Thanks but as the others have pointed out, there are many 'added items' that should be considered.

I'm still learning myself. the list I posted is just what I know I'm working on.
after the limited research I've had time to do, (via search), that's the best route I can come up with. Sure there's other ways, and other things to add to the list, but those were the major points.

Thanks for pointing out that there are some 06's that got the nice 05 style motor mounts (mine didn't)

and after living in the DSM world for a while, gauges (while eyecandy yes), should always be present when working with any kind of EM, simply tuning blind is a mistake IMO. but to each his/her own. again IMO get the right gear first, then start playing with "eeking out as much power as possible"

again all my posts are IMO, so take it at face value. thanks for all the input as all input is seriously considered in my trek-thru-learning all things about my STI.... :)
