Hello all, this is my first post despite spending the majority of my life on this site in the past year. I know price speculation has been debated time and time again and in no way is this post official info, however it has come down through the chain of command. I have been #1 on a MSRP list for over 6 mo. now and know my sales guy pretty good. He has never given me any misinformation in the past and is a straight shooter, no BS. I just received a call from him today and he told me that his district sales manager who was told by the regional sales manager that the STi will be priced at $30,995+freight. I asked about further specs and he is unsure about the weight, but is pretty certain the car comes with no available options like the new WRX(cold climate,sunroof,etc.). The only option will be the dealer installed stereo. He wants my color choice,he stated WRC blue will come w/ gold wheels and silver, white and black cars will come with the silver wheels. The first cars according to him should arrive in June/July.Again I am not trying to raise a price debate of any kind, I just thought this information would like to be read. In no way is this offical. He said if there were any changes in price he would let me know. I have had him poke questions at his higher up time after time and this time they actually gave him a real number not just ballpark. I was elated to hear this b/c I think that the price stated is right on the market for a spectacular car. If anyone would post info on what subaru's destination charge is from other cars they have bought I would appreciate it. So if this is the real deal, all you guys with $32k or walk limits look to be in for one heck of a treat!

Well worded posting, succinct and with all the right clarifiers. I for one (and I'm sure I speak for all of us) would jump for joy if it comes it at about 31K plus freight    . No speculation here at all...just honest hope!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed. Number 1 at my dealer, so c'mon June/July!!!

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks for the welcome. I am really not trying to sound anal...it has just been kind of a touchy subject with everyone going nuts waiting for the official release. This is not the best topic for a first post with no previous credibility. As for subaru giving the finger, I think we are going to see a lot more of that in the future in the states. They are not going to let go of the market. Dealer is putting in the order for my color of choice, and I am stoked. This car is going to be MAD!

Hi All,
Destination here in New England is $550.I have heard that its $525 elsewhere, not sure why its $25 higher here considering our port is in RI.
I still have not heard any official prices but that $30,995 happens also to be a number I had mentioned to me once by a Subaru of New England person.

Feels like were getting closer!
And yes, lets flip Mitsu the bird!LOL!

Very well worded post, natronium. Again, welcome to the forum.

And that sounds like great news. Maybe this is that late breaking "odd ball" info that comes right before the curtain opens....kinda like the 2.5L deal. We had all heard that we were getting the 2.0L and then at the last minute the big sources came back and said 2.5L.

Keep dem fingers crossed!

A dealer had mentioned earlier than you may be able to order any wheel color you like...but that dealers would be taking stock of primary color combos, as mentioned above. The only diff was that the dealer said the black cars would have gold rims......

We'll have to see.

I discussed the wheel color issue with someone else before and didn't want to argue. I was told and read the minutes a few months ago from the National Dealer Principal meeting and the almost unanimous decision from every dealer was that they DID NOT want the gold at all. They decided to put them on the blue car only. Now I haven't heard that for sure but that is what I read a few months ago.

On the lot, black and blue will come with gold wheels and white and silver will come with silver wheels. You can order your car with the wheel color of your choice if you would like. Like me, white with gold wheels. :)

I doubt that. Subaru looks down on dealers that do that kinda stuff, right?

Know what else is interesting?

As you browse around the forums here, this mythical $30,995 figure seems to be popping up all over...

Also, charging over MSRP doesn't seem to be something that Subaru dealers will do much of (right, Mr. Murley??).

The effect is that the EVO with its stupid markup is going to be more expensive than the STi!!!! 8)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Of course, this all depends on what the actual price will be...

Anyone else getting excited here??
