I just installed Omori boost gauge. Man, getting it in the rubber cup is a HUGE PITA. I kept thinking, "It can't be as bad as everyone says." But I was wrong. It was definitely the hardest part of the install. I haven't really driven the car yet, so I have not been able to see any boost numbers. I do have another question, though. When I originally installed the factory gauge, I put the little restrictor in the hose leading to the gauge like the directions said. After a while, I decided to see what happens when I removed it. WOW! The gauge became much more responsive!!! The needle flew up and down as fast as my foot could press or let off of the pedal. So, when I got my Omori gauge, I notice it comes with a three-way hose fitting that also has a restrictor, but it is non-removable. I did not change any of the lines, so when I put the new gauge in, I notice it flutters quite a bit (restrictor thingy still out). I never noticed this flutter with the old gauge. I decided to put the restrictor back in for fear of damaging the gauge. Is it safe to take it back out? Is there an option for a less restrictive restrictor? The hose fittings that came with the Omori are too small to fit where the factory T fitting is. I just hate flooring it, and waiting what seems like an eternity for the needle to slowly sweep up and back down again when I let off the throttle. This restrictor could also be to blame for some people not "seeing" full boost. They are probably not giving the gauge enough time to give an accurate reading before they shut down. Any thoughts?
