What size blanket should I look for to fit a Dom 1.5 XT-R?

I can't find any blankets that are listed specifically for this application. I find blankets listed for other specific turbo models, and also for frame sizes (T3, T4, etc). Is the 1.5 a T3 frame? I'll be running an EWG but not welded, so I'll have an IWG block off bracket to work around.

Thanks, I've been leaning towards PTP, since they seem pretty well made and get good reviews.

Actually, that would be sweet... I recall you had the IWG bracket as well, so it would be nice to see how the blanket fits with the bracket. Thanks!

Oh, and have you done the "touch test" with the Perrin blanket, and how did it fare?

I'm running EWG, but with a stationary bracket in place of the actuator arm. So no movement to worry about, but the blanket has to physically accommodate the bracket.

Here is the pic of the blanket on the turbo and the waste gate bracket on it as well. I just shoved the turbo blanket underneath the bracket and called it good like that.

What touch test? The blanket works but is kinda pointless right now as my DP is still not wrapped; so once I wrap my DP, it should work a heck of a lot better in conjunction. The other option would be to just buy a generic turbo blanket kit and cut it too fit your application. Not sure how well it will hold in the heat compared to the Perrin blanket but we will see as my friend and I just installed it a generic blanket kit this weekend on his 07 STI.

Edit: Let me know if you need a more clear pic as I will be pulling the TMIC some time later tonight.

Thank you, that helps.

What touch test?
A number of blanket "reviews" I've come across have mentioned being able to touch the blanket after dyno pulls, hard drives, etc- implying satisfactory fitness of purpose. I was just wondering of you had done anything similar (not to suggest that you should, I'd hate to have burned hands on my conscience) :p

That seems like a dumb idea.... The turbo blanket is there to combat heat soak so the best test would be to touch the blanket after the car had sat and idled for a good 10-15 min. Any type of movement of air inside of the engine bay is going to make the blanket cool to the touch, as it will not have had time enough to sit and heat up from the rising heat in the turbo.
