are there any quality lite duty trailer hitches available for the impreza,want to tow a single watercraft trailer?

Please don't put a hitch on a STi. Use some of the money for a hitch and by a beater pick-up or SUV.
Keep the STi clean.

subaru makes one. you should be able to talk to your dealer about getting one installed...i.e a 1 1/4" hitch.... any hitch place should be able to do it...make sure that they don't do any drilling!

since the car is a unibody design, you probably won't be able to get a 2" hitch on there....but I think for a single watercraft trailer, it should be fine.

I dunno if you can buy a beater pick-up or SUV for 200 bucks, plus cost of insurance, maintenance of 2 cars, garage space, etc, etc...

I'm most likely going to get one, because I don't trust trunk mounted bike racks, and a roof rack would mess up the STi 'clean' look even more...at least with a hitch I can take the hitch bike rack off and have it semi-stealth.

I understand not wanting to do it for looks....but now I am curious. This baby has 300HP and 300lb/ft of torque. This sucker could pull a horse trailer!!! Now THAT would be a funny video. Cruisin down the highway pulling a 3-horse trailer.....hilarious.
