this journal starts with post #20!

what the heck, no:lol:...but I realize there are a few differences, and for your information, I will post a photo or two, EDM = european domestic market (information for the "new guys")

here you can see on the left the EDM fog light, it´s a "must have" in germany, and most of the other european countries

the button on the left is for the EDM rear foglight

our EDM mesh grille (no, I don´t want to trade with an USDM grille)

Did you notice the little "bump" in front of the headlights on the front bumper? It´s because all hawkeye STI´s uses Xenon lights, no halogen headlights. Again a "must have" for cars in germany: if you are using Xenon, you must have an automatic headlight washing system and an automatic light-heigth-correction that the upcoming other car drivers don´t get dazzled /glared ($hit, don´t know the correct description for this, sorry).

If you are using the windshield washer longer than four seconds, the little bumps are coming up, and the integrated nozzles are spraying water on the headlights.

ah, the hole on the left side is my EDM ghetto intake mod:lol:

what else...I dunno, only this
it´s all metric
speedometer kilometer per hour, not miles per hour
temperature in Celsius, not Fahrenheit
pressure in bar, not psi

oh yes, the forester DIN-pocket is different (and the crappy radio unit, and the aftermarket head units)

Now I´m tired, it´s 1.35 AM, and the other goodies will be posted....I dunno

Re: Do I need a journal? It´s EDM, baby

The deal?
German government says: if it´s foggy and the sight is only 50 m or less (50 m is around 164 feet), the speed limit on highway or autobahn has to be 50 kilometer per hour (around 31 mph) and the rear fog light has to be switched on, to avoid car crashes.

Those damn fog lights are brighter than the stop/brake lights, if a stupid driver forgot to turn them off, it will burn your retina in the dark:tdown:

Re: Do I need a journal? It´s EDM, baby

hmmm, maybe a journal needs more "journalism"...

first mod, the replica lip

followed by the first defis

time for mo´ powa;)

full 3" with hi-flow cat, only available in germany, only 60 were made, all sold

mine is number 26:)

and I believe this little cuty would match perfectly;) GT-specII unequal length

first time it hurts:p...have to cut a little

and yes, we have to cut a little more (my car may feel like an emo:lol:)

because I feel sorry for this harsh treatment, a little gift, the spt heat shield

that´s enough for today:lol:

Re: Do I need a journal? It´s EDM, baby

are your xenons not adjustable like our usdm ones?
no, for some reasons the german government says that cars with Xenon must have an automatic adjustment to avoid blinding oncoming traffic...and it sucks:tdown:

Re: Do I need a journal? It´s EDM, baby

forgot something

YouTube - defis im Dunkeln (nicht gerade Nacht) (title says "defi in the dark, not night)...and Rammstein rocks

and yes, I have to change the wiring for synchronization the gauge needle sweep:p

ok, little more info...we all noticed the two bungs...one in the uppipe and one in the downpipe, let´s use them

AEM UEGO AFR (I know it´s not very far away from the turbo) and the defi EGT (I know it´s only in the uppipe and not in the header near cyl. no 3)...and, as a personal note, the AEM is only "cinema for mice":D. The gauge pod is lotek, nice piece, good fitting, color is ok. My problem: diameter defi bf 60 mm, AEM 52 mm...I´m not pleased with the result

another small vid

YouTube - AFR aem uego

hood dampers

radiator shroud

both, dampers and shroud, are self made by a member of our german subaru forum, nice and cheap mods

that´s enough for today, and thank you for your interest and comments

Re: Do I need a journal? It´s EDM, baby

a few days more, a few goodies more (this car is more expensive than a marriage:lol:)

pulley-kit...crank, alternator, power steering, special made by Chris from good ol´ england

power steering

alternator

crank (sorry, no better pic available)

and yes, I recognized a difference...less "engine brake"

the DIY-Master-brake-bracket (my personal opinion: not really necessary for MY06/MY07)

I will never-ever install this piece of s*** again...it was a disaster, terrible fitment, I hate this little sucker
