Long Term:
- 400WHP and reliable

Events:

- Local RallyX #1 (Attended, Fun runs, no time)

Purpose:

Track and Daily driver, I want something competitive on the track and something that feels better then falling down a set of stairs when I go over bumps. Not going full out loud and proud either.

Re: Tony's UGM STI

History:

Subaru's have always been in my heart. I all started back when I was 8(2002). I saw my first TV ad. And I fell in love. Was interested in emblem, the all wheel drive, styling. Just Subaru in general. The love faded a bit as I wasn't a car enthusiast back then hell or even a car fan. No one in my family knew, what they were and how good they were so they were never mention. Nor where anyone in the family a car person. They believe car are a form of transport and nothing else. To me it's a lifestyle.

Back when Need For Speed: Carbon was released 6 years ago thats when I got back into cars. It stood with me ever since. I knew what STI was. But always picked the evo due the its looks and I thought STI sounded funny to drive around as first thing I think of was sexual transmitted infection. Supra, evo, skyline got most of my attention at the time. Lambos, vettes, never got my attention. Porsche Carrera GT was love at first sight.

Back to the modern day, My parents kinda forced me into doing my drivers ed. Ha. Wasn't that I didn't want to learn how to drive, I just didn't want to be a taxi driver for my family, And I didn't really needed a car, friends lived nearby I could easily walked over. I didnt have a job back then, so no debit card nor a credit card. I couldn't go buy my own things. So its why I didn't feel like I need to take drivers as soon as I can. Shortly after I was enrolled I was looking at getting a brand new lancer(parent didn't mind) just because of the EVO, Then I changed my mine, wanted a european car. Just because its eurpean, Was looking at BMWs, Audis, VW, and Mini, But nothing really appealed to me. If I wanted one thing it was missing something else. Nothing just completely fits.

I fell back in love with subaru's after looking at youtube videos(boxer rumble ftw), and doing some more research into them. Only after my friend convince me to get one. He drove a blue 2006 STI at the time. I knew It was the one.

Anyways. On the day I got my drivers license. I had already decided, my heart and mind set on a STI. On the day of the road test. I was sitting in the waiting room talking to my parents, "I'm leaving today with my drivers. And within a few months A sti." He was like good luck, I passed my road test, I wasn't even shocked or too happy about it. I wasn't till I had a STI.

The aggressive look, boxer rumble, 4 doors, 5 seats, Had a nice size trunk. The wing. Reliability, The rally history. Yeah you could say that the evo is pretty much the same the on paper, But wasnt anyone selling them locally at the time. I didn't know how to drive standard at the time. So having a glass transmission in the evo wasn't really ideal for me. After reading that STI bulletproof transmissions I was somewhat sold. I spent more and more time looking at videos on youtube. It amazed me how well it does in snow. A major plus in our winters.

The search has started. I was on Kijiji trying to scope out a STI or very least a WRX. Finally settled on a 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. My favorite year out of all the models. Hands down.

Shortly after I found a guy who willing to sell his 07 sti for 22.5K(asking price 25k) On September 12. I took deliver of the car. I couldn't sleep for days. ogled at my car while it sits in the garage.(still couldn't drive stick at the time)

and thats how I ended up in the subaru family.

Re: Tony's UGM STI

Thanks, yours isn't bad either.

I can't decide on my next mod, OS tune or AP OTS. AP would make my life hell of a lot easier, between summer and winter tune. Or OS and have a few gauges laying around. Useful all the time.

Still waiting on the JDM button.. Should be here any day now. I hate ordering from the states haha. Makes everything 10x longer.

Edit:
My tuner is booked till least may. Ouch.. I guess I better start reading up and do the tune myself haha. AP might be a better choice here

Re: Tony's UGM STI

But the road's here are so bad, it's like going to do a rally but on public roads lol. GA Scooby suggested the T2 route. Go figure haha.

Definitely doing KartBoy endlinks front and rear.

I need new transmissions, engine mounts/bushings as well. Car launches forward when engine braking.

Talking to BMS for kartboy shifter bushing :D Bout to place a order tomorrow or so.

Edit, typos

Re: Tony's UGM STI

Yeah, I'm going to that direction myself. I'm also going to get a KillerB oil pickup while I'm at it...I haven't been modding for a while.
Check out the Covert oil pick-up. It's half the cost of the other one and made by Tigwerks.

Man what I would have given to have an STI when I was your age. I would probably be in jail for triple digit cop chases bc I was reckless lol. You must be a really mature driver for your age. Nice car though happy modding!

Lol, mature. Let just say 200 KPH isn't that fast.

My gas mileage is one of the reason why I'm not driving reckless. It's horrible. I've been told its close to track MPG while i'm granny shifting.

Can't wait for track days.

Cute story, nice car!

BMS FTW!! Wheres your sticker at??:)
Just ordered so still at BMS, then 2 weeks in the mail, then finally maybe on my car

Re: Tony's UGM STI

YGPM sir,

Decided to go against the Cobb Accessport and head open source, The reason for the change is because I only needed to flash and read codes, Which I can both do with a RomRaider/ECU Flash. No need to spend unnecessary money if I don't have to right? More money towards next mod.

Downside, I got a lot of reading to do.

Re: Tony's UGM STI

Almost got in an acciddent today at a roundabout,

I really hate people who treats them like 4 way stops. I stop I can now go. I was maybe .5 of an inch from his front bumper. I was already in the roundabout half way through it before he decides he got the right of way. He started to tail gate me once he was out of it. I should have slammed my brakes. I know for a fact he would have rear ended me and then deal with my insurance and pay for the damages.

Really hate drivers
