My two cents.
I saw most of the 2001 WRC events as they played out on the tube. During one of the breaks the commentator asked Tommi some thing about his future with Mitsubishi. I remember Tommi saying something along the lines of if he stayed or left it would be because of his own motivations. What that meant, who knows? I do remember this was after he started driving the new Lancer WRC. He was having all kinds of problems with it. Now he's driving for Subaru and kicking butt.
