Hello People,
The STI is here after postponing the purchase for many years

My love story with the STI started in 2003 when i saw the very first 2003 black STI that was bought by my close friend back in Beirut during my first college year. Now i always had a thing for Subaru's as i come from a family that used to distribute Subarus in West Africa (Sierra Leone) to be more precise, but the passion caught fire when my eyes saw the STI for the 1st time.

To cut a long story short, i always wanted an STI since 2003, however i was never in a position to convince my parents of buying me one at the age of 17. Thus, the alternative was a 2001 Golf Mark 4 Vr6, it was something to calm down the crave that i had for an STI (I know they cant be compared).

The VR6 was an amazing ride , however the AWB and Turbo feeling was missing.
Thus, it was shortly replaced by the below with an interval of 2 years between each car.

1. MK4 R32
2. Seat Leon Fr

I now work in Dubai and decided to cut the waiting and just go for the STI.
While i was a the dealers showroom negotiating a 2013 Hatch, i was offered their test drive WRB STI, a bone stock 2010 hatch with 6,700Km on the clock (Flawless condition, still smells new).

Ofcourse the deal was too good to be true, so couldn't let the offer down I have added a pic pf the car, this was taken on the same day the car was delivered.

The car currently has the below listed Mods on it in order to match my performance expectations: (Updated on 19 Jan 2013)

1. Invedia catless DP
2. Aquamist HSF- 3( 50% Meth / 50% Water Mix )
3. Dual Tank (for the mist)
4. Kartboy short shifter kit.
5. HKS SSQV BOV
6. Wideband
7. Protune.
8. Oil Temp gauge.
9. Gauge pod ( SMY Clustermaker)
10. Tail light Mod (Over lays ).
11. 50% all around black window tints ( 92% heat & UV rejection)
12. Bayson R front lip

The biggest challenge that am currently facing is deciding with which cat back to go.

Stay tuned

Re: The Mighty !

good looking ride. IMO I'd keep it Invidia for the performance aspect of 3 inch turbo back. (and a little OCD having a mix-match exhaust) q300 looks great/sounds good. N1 sounds great/looks good. just my 2 cents

Thanks , your input is much appreciated, however the UAE authorities are quite strict when it comes to tuning. Thus, i would need to be very careful with my exhaust selection as it might get the car in trouble  A quiet one is my target.

Re: The Mighty !

UPDATE: 22-AUG-2012

I got the car back this afternoon. The car made 280 WHP & 334 WTQ on a Mustang Dyno (Attached some Dyno data for your reading pleasure) yuppy...
:D

Here are my initial thoughts after driving it for a 2 hours trip from Abu Dhabi to Dubai (Mainly Highway- 160Km drive)

1. The car felt completely different , i almost though i was driving a different car :) Smooth power delivery.

2. I was dis-appointed when I found out that the Short shifter's bushing was making an irritating noise in the car. Might go back to the stock shifter because of this. The noise is similar to a noisy gearbox due to a bad oil, we almost thought that something was wrong with the gearbox oil. I guess its a Kartboy Issue.

3. The Aquamist tank was installed in a very professional way , i was literally impressed (Pics to follow soon).

4. The BOV exceeded my expectations, what a symphony.... And the SMY was just for the car, it made me feel as if this is how it came out of the agency.

PS: I have also attached a pic of the box that contains the old parts that were taken off the car along, the same pic shows some fresh Meth Supply:evilbanan

I will make sure i post some pics ASAP in order to show the car after the install.

Enjoy ...

Re: The Mighty !

Is this the HFS 6 Aquamist? I'm still thinking about it.
Nop, That's the HFS-3. Totally worth it.

More power gains from one side, while protecting your ring lands (to a certain extent) on the other hand.

One of the nice things that Tensai does with this set up, is that they will tune your ECU to reduce timing and boost once you run out of liquid / switch off the Aquamist system.

Thus, nothing to worry about in case you run out of liquid, except for the fact that your car will be putting less power, which will theoretically cause no harm.
