Are you asking how to make a non-STi manifold appear STi....it's not paint. It's a resin inbedded in the material that the manifold is made out of. You'll never get the look of that manifold by painting it. That's why it looks textured.

If you are just trying to paint a manifold without trying to look like anything, any high temp paint should work fine.

rrrrrrrright....

What the hell does attempting to 'blow' an STi away have to do with the color of the intake manifold?

How about you sit down for a bit and decide if you really want to try to beat an STi. When you do, decide in which way? Handling? Top speed? Quarter mile? Acceleration?

If you can pick one, you might be successful with some work. To 'blow' an STi away in all those areas, you'll spend tens of thousands.

OR

You can beat it how it sounds you are attempting to beat it......RICE FACTOR.

Have a good time.

Alright, no, I want to talk about this seriously now....

Do you know how much work you would have to do to 'build' an STi from a WRX? Don't just spout off...just start listing things. We'll help ya.

I'm all for people of all types of cars modding, but why attempt something like that? For just a few grand, you have the real deal. It would take so much work to just put the parts on, let alone get the tuning the way STi has been adjusting it for years.

Just the other day I was wondering if anyone would attempt to make a poseur STi...you know, the labels, the wing, the brakes, wheels....all the looks just to look like it. I figured no one would attempt it.

Guess wrong...

well i dont have anything agaisnt the STi, i love that car and im going to try to get one but wouldnt it cost alittle less to keep my wrx and to give it some good mods without going over the price of a STi, but then again you probably are right and the engine wont hold. i dont know what i was thinking  i had an idea but now im not to sure

wouldnt it help to import the STi engine, but i dont know if it could keep up with the 2.5L engine

YOWZERs!!!!!! JUST BUY A FRIGGIN' STI! Now you are talking about importing a JDM STI engine. You know how much it will cost to do that. Paying a location fee, shipping, THE COST OF THE ENGINE and the installation cost will add up to WAY MORE than just spending another 6K for an STI! Besides you'll do all that and still get your butt handed too you by a USDM STI!

Amen....by the time you buy the new ( or should I say heavily abused) engine from Japan and get it installed, you will have paid the price diff between the WRX and STi a few times over.

Yeah, the car is a little pricey, but the point is....there is NO OTHER WAY to get this performance for this price. PERIOD!

That sounds like a good idea. Now don't get me wrong here. If you have ALOT of money and dream of building some kind of sleeper JDM/USDM frankenstein machine and whoop up on USDM sti's then go for it. Peace!!
