Re: The 618 LHD CTR

Here are the first of the parts to go on the car when it arrives.
400lb fronts and 500lb rears. I also have a set of swift helper springs to help balancing the rear heights, I figure I should have enough play on the front heights in the lower mounting position. I'll find out soon enough.

I sprayed them down with some Boeshield to help with corrosion protection.

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

First non-car related post...

Last weekend was my bachelor party, I had an unbelievable time. Night before, me and a few friends grabbed dinner at this awesome burger place in the city. Then started rooftop drinking at around 2pm, followed by a rooftop view baseball game at 6pm, then the rest is a big blurrrr.

Anyway, some pictures.

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

Lol yea... it is super stiff, definitely needs the koni's ASAP. I made a hard right turn and could feel the tires hopping.

Other than that though, the chassis and car feel outstanding. The car just turns, no understeer or anything. I'm guessing it has to do with the LSD and the roll bars.

And the crazy stiff springs.

Go Karts turn super fast too for a reason!!

Can't wait to hear your review on the car after you get it all setup and get an event or two under your belt with it.

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

Unfortunately, it did scrape... Gouged the bottom of the lip pretty good. Luckily it isnt noticeable unless you're looking for it. I hope the freighter is willing to accept the pics I took and just settle with sending me a $200 check

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

Last night, my buddy helped me wash, claybar, and wax the car. Got a lot of little specks of buildup off of the finish, and were able to correct a good amount of the swirling. Eventually we'd like to hit it with some more aggressive polish, but this will do for now.

clay bar, 3 passes with polish, 1 coat of wax

P.S. I promise to get a real camera soon and start taking some nicer pics... The iphone is just not cutting it anymore.

Here are some more random shots from yesterday.

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

Suspension for sure has to be changed... Ordering some odds and ends, new dyno tune, alignment, security system, 205/15 BFG Rivals, etc etc.

I need to give the interior a deep cleaning though. And the seats need to be swapped driver/passenger are flipped...

We used dawn dishsoap to strip any old wax, then clay barred using Adam's polishes, then polished and wax with some different cut pads and aggressiveness of polish and finished with wax. Meguiars products were used for polish and wax.

Then in a couple of days I'll wipe it all down again with some Adam's Polishes Detail Spray. That stuff is the shiznit!

Re: The 618 LHD CTR

I must say that your are getting Civics to grow back on me...

In Québec, it's almost impossible to find one not riced out or tastefully modded, which made me loathe Civics, Honda/Acura in general, and the tuning culture associated with them. Years of hatred are not easily mended... but keep going, you just might cure me!

(that, and a nice S2000 with a hardtop/fastback conversion might do the trick too!) ;)
