So I am getting my car back after an engine build(no change in mods list). The shop has stated that it has a lean issue(+25% correction). That they state is the TGV shaft seals(read: seals on the back/front of the tgvs under a small oval shaped plate held on by two screws). I decided since I had a winter parts list I was throwing together for ~500hp on the new engine I would just have it towed back to my place and just start early on the build with tgv deletes.

My question is has anyone had these seals leak before? Is there any specific cause or rhyme or reason as to why they would start leaking? Is there a boost threshold they start to fail at or is it just luck of the draw?
