Tein Street Flex Coilovers, redemption? Reviews?

Tein is notorious for making very street unfriendly coilovers that tend to rust. This new generation seems to have addressed some of their damning weaknesses. I had Tein SS on my previous car for 7 years (no rust, no clunking, etc) and they performed beautifully so I have a soft spot for them despite all the negativity

Great cost effective system is the best way to put it.
The StreetFlex has replaced the old Flex system by offering a better product at a lower cost.
The new StreetFlex offers a 200% wider adjustment range compared to the outgoing flex system. They also change the top hats to steel instead of aluminum to bring cost down, and added a tougher coating to the body to prevent corrosion.

This post should help you out a bit, 1st part is about the new EDFC Active, 2nd post is about the New Street Flex

I've been scouring the internet for reviews and they did get a pretty good reception amongst the BRZ/FRS crowd

I had a pair on my old civic before the sti, and they worked very well. I had on minor leak on one strut and was covered under warranty and taken car of fast and efficient, with fast delivery of parts from japan. Had a great experience with them and would definitely choose another pair for the sti.

i have the monoflex coils on my sti. at 550/450 rates. i honestly expected a much rougher ride than it has. car handles great on track and autocross and i drive it frequently on the road without changing damping settings at all. i cant imagine the street flex being rougher.

So I ended getting a fantastic deal on these coilovers with the Black Friday Sale from RSD  My old BC racing coilovers had 70k miles on them so I felt it was an appropriate time to replace them. I've now logged 5000 miles on the Tein Street Flex coilovers and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with them.

The build quality is flawless without a blemish and operate without any creaking/clunking/harshness. Tein has claimed that they improved the valving of their coilovers with the Tein Street Flex tremendously and I can certainly attest to that. I've set my coilovers in the middle setting for daily driving and I've had up to 4 additional people in my car without rubbing and all of them pointed out comfortable the ride is, this is coming from both sexes

When I want to do some spirited driving alone, these coilovers offer sensational stability and instantaneous steering response, with the 15:1 steering rack of course lol (still VERY good). The dampening on these coilovers are superb where the car stays completely composed over bumps in the roads and absorbs them like a champ even traveling through atrocious D.C. roads.

I highly recommend these coilovers for people wanting somewhere in between BC Racing and K&W V3. I can't say anything that really makes them stand out with other mid-level coilovers like Fortune Auto or Feal except that I am very satisfied with the Tein Type Flex. Here is a video of me driving through the crappy/bumpy streets of Georgetown to get a sense of how these coilovers handle bumps:
