Well, here we go! Another journal, another tale to tell.

I have finally got my car to a point where I am proud of it inside and out, from rods to bolts and my journey is pretty common among the members of the community with mod paths in the beginning and then I digress...

You know how it started with me, that silly little COBB accessport and a hint of boost from the OTS Stage 1 map. The rest is history. I began with a TurboXS RFL exhaust and then I became addicted to boost from that day forward. I found as many bolt-ons as I could find and made my way to 484whp on a DOM3 turbo, high on life - my motor popped about a week later. This is truly where my real journey began; new friends, new passion, new material to learn and before you knew it, lots of money - in my eyes well spent. My personality doesn't allow me to do something without fully understanding why I am doing it or why it works so I was forced to learn my car from the inside out.

I began by seeking the help of Slowboy Racing for my motor build and with Mike Huml's help, we built a beast. It took months of going back and forth and shipping from MA to FL and when the day came for delivery finally, UPS dropped the motor off the back of the trunk. You can see how this is going right away, lol. The motor ate the bearings about 1300 miles later and I was sent back to the drawing board for a second time. I was introduced by a good friend of mine to someone I consider one of my best friends, his name is Tony Pinto. Tony took the time to show me the internals of my motor and took the time to explain to me what we should do for the next build. Without holding back, everything was taken apart, rebuilt coated, re-balanced and set up for the future. He drudged on tireless building my entire block with the same care and precision that he took on his motor.

With all things aside, I love to work on my car, cleaning, driving, beating it senselessly and installing parts. Below is my current mod list:

so sad,all that work and money spent only to let a pos shop like sbr touch it.im sure it will be fast but if sbr touched/assmebled/sourced parts for it theres no doubt youll be redoing the work.

We shall see in time. I was a little disappointed to hear that EFI logics is like an hour and twenty minutes from me, but Slowboy has been extremely well with sending updates/taking care of the engine so far. I pretty much hand picked the parts and just had them assemble it - it wasn't some off the shelf block that they advertise or anything like that.

I have been debating going EWG while the car is down for another few weeks. Probably going to get a Grimmspeed Uppipe and Turbosmart 38mm. Along with a Grimmspeed Downpipe to match the HKS Carbon Ti I just picked up.

Re: t00mes 2007 OBP STI, ongoing engine rebuild. Fuel rail install pics!

Posting some pics of the fuel rail install. Pretty simple stuff actually.

Getting everything ready to go!

Removed old orings and put new ones in the baggie to lube up with the super lube.

All cleaned up.

Re: t00mes 2007 OBP STI, ongoing engine rebuild. Fuel rail install pics!

On a good note, the engine turned out to be okay. It is being put back together, and should be shipped home this week! Thank god. It's been 5 months. What a fiasco with UPS :[

I recently purchased a used HKS, and it needed some SERIOUS, TLC.

Okay, this was the remains of a doughnut gasket SHOVED into the flange and baked on -- as you can see the flange needed to be cleaned up rather intensely. The surface on it was like a piece of bread with cavities and mounts. I dremeled the surface down for about 30 minutes until it was 90% smooth and then hit it with a grinder and now its back to a glassy surface.

Re: t00mes 2007 OBP STI, ongoing engine rebuild. New exhaust! Refurbishing pictures.

Just picked up this lip. Partly because I haven't see anyone running it and also because of how aggressive it is. Who knows, it might be going back. Have to mock it up before making the final decision!

Thank you UpscaleAutomotive!

Lip is currently back ordered 6 weeks, don't really feel like waiting for it.
