I was wondering if anyone has had the Subaru amp/subwoofer installed in their WRX? If so, how does it sound and how much was the kit. I saw the kit at Subaru the other day and the box was only the size of a large laptop - the subwoofer itself was only as big as an encyclopedia. Is this kit worth it? Probably not when compared to aftermarket kits, but just curious.

we have it in our 2000 outback wagon. it's my wife's car and perfect for her musical demands. no way would i use that in my car though. too underpowered, yada yada.

I have it on my WRX and it is pretty good. Remember it is not an audiophile's system. Also it is not the McIntosh version. Other than that I think it is good for its price and the convenience of having it installed. I would go for a nice aftermarket system in the STi. You would probably pay a bit more but I would imagine the performance would be much better as well. Plus you will get a choice of brands, combos etc..
