Just passed two transporters full of STi's heading South on I-5. 24 total just left the Vancouver port heading South. Yours maybe getting closer. Does this mean they are not holding them for the detonation issue?

It turns out that there may not be an issue at all. STi owners are finding that their ECU is adjusting to the fuel they are using but it is taking some time to do so. The pinging appears to be going away after time.

I dunno man. In some cases it's getting worse. There is definitely a problem to be addressed by Subaru.
I haven't read anywhere that it is getting worse. I read it's about the same or getting better over time. My STi was made in 03-03 and I have not heard anything yet. Not saying there isn't a problem tough.

There is a thread there right now that has been there for a few days about pinging getting better or worse and the people that replied with pinging said it seems to be getting better. The guy who started it said he seems to be getting less pinging. Three people replied and said they noticed the same thing.

Could it be that more poeple are getting passed the breakin therefor would get the "det" rpm range? Then once they pass thru that range several times and the computer learns it would go away. So it would go from a little det to what seems like alot (or is alot  ) and then it would subside? I will have to say that there is ALOT of "well i heard on the internet from...." about this subject and what seems like very little substance.
