Turbo XS STi exhaust + 27 hp..

Hey all you lucky Sti owners! I know some of you did not really like those big wings, so I would like to make an offer to anyone who has a White Sti. I will trade you my stock Aspen White WRX spoiler for your Aspen White STi wing.

I will negotiate a deal with anyone who is willing.

Thanks
Kiff

...and hope the connector for the stoplight is the same. should be but it looks like the sti lights are the high intensity LED type (i'm guessing so since it has a clear lens and the bulbs aren't red.) does the wrx have this also???

I have not seen the STi bolt pattern myself but from what i read on this forum it is not possible to swap just the spoilers.
The brake light on the wing of the WRX is the same as on the STi, and i am fairly sure that the connectors are too.
I am just looking for someone that has a white STi to swap the entire trunk for my trunk. I have a second vehicle so shipping mine first to try the swap will be fine.
I will also take care of the shipping and a little extra for the labor to remove and install.

I hate to be the guy that paraphrases his dealer (who may or may not know wtf they are talking about,) but just tonight, while visiting my dealer's first STi, I asked and he said that soon (4-6 mos.) there will be a different spoiler available, either lowering it 6" or to 6", I can't recall which, but apparently it mounts using the screws found on the bottom of the two side supports.

Do I win a nickle for the longest sentence in this topic?

Yes, the bolt pattern is different between STi and WRX wing. Soooo, here's my plan: Install a WRX wing on my STi trunk (I *think* the side bolt holes line up, 2 on each side). Then I'm left with 4 evenly spaced holes across the back of the decklid. To keep the water out, I'm just going to seal them up with 4 pretty stainless steel or chrome bolts. They shouldn't be that visible sitting under the lower WRX spoiler; if I don't like that look, I'm just going to hit each bolt with some WR Pearl Blue touch up paint, they'll hardly be noticeable. That way I keep my STi trunk with my VIN and lock and can put the STi wing on later for resale, autocross, etc......

If I'm not mistaken, the STi wing is only like $400 bucks anyway. You may be better off buying one rather than going through the hassle of trunk swapping!

Also, I believe it is made of ABS Plastic, not carbon fiber.

Here is a pic of a guy in the SE forum on Nasioc who just put the STi wing on his 03 WRX:

I think it looks great myself.

Also, here is a link to his post which describes the process (had to drill 4 more holes in the trunk) if you are interested:

Thanks for all the Replys. The only reason I am offering to switch trunks with someone is to help us both out. If no one is willing to try it then i am going to just purchase a Ver. 7 spoiler. I can get one off ebay that is painted for $355. I think it looks a little better than the new wing anyways.

In fact, The version 7 spoiler has like 11 holes in it as well so it may match up to ya'lls STi.

Thanks
