Has anyone sat in both the standard US WRX seats and JDM/UK STi seats?

I'm not huge or ridiculously fat, but the standard US WRX seats are a little too small for my body. I have a larger frame than they were apparently intended for. That's always been one of my problems with the WRX, whereas it's a positive point for most people.

Anyway, can anyone compare the seats first-hand? I know it's form-fitting, and that's fine, as long as that "form" will accommodate someone 5'10" and slightly over 200 lbs.

Interested in this also...

If they are much more form fitting than the WRX seats, 90% of the US population won't fit..

If you don't fit in the WRX seats you wont fit in the STi seats.Although the seats are more form fitting and firmer they do feel smaller.Notice I said "feel".At the end of the day I think they are the same size.

No need to worry. I have an enormous female friend (not an enormous girlfriend!!!) and she fits just fine into my JDM spec STI seats in my 2000 Impreza GT Turbo (imported from Finland).
And I have sat in the standard WRX seats. Let me assure you - those are GARBAGE!

I like the JDM seats but SOA may not choose to bring them here. Or better yet maybe we will get special seats for our country so we can export them and charge an arm, leg and first borne to the people that choose to buy them. Just my thoughts.

They go through the same thing like we do for Scoobys. I have a guy from germany that comes over once a year and exports corvettes over to germany. I sold him my 1980 Corvette L82 for 18K. Here it would only bring 12. He didnt even ask how much. He just said hed give me 18 and I said ok. Is kinda funny though.

Do you mean like special American "fat-seats"? So we could sell them to all the other obese Europeans etc. who can't fit into their countries seats? That would be funny.
Yeah, that would be funny. But I don't think anyone else would need them. Pretty sure the USA is the fattest country on earth...

I am an aussie who owned WRX'01 in Sydney. Having arrived here I tried the WRX seats and I too could not fit. I felt like i was hiting the support rails within the seat-base. Every other country have the STi seats as standard in the WRX!!!...I am currently trying to get some imported by the cost a fortune.....checkout the interior for aust subaru website...same as UK, Japan and Chile!!...answer given to me was cuting costs here in US/Canada....shame.

I believe an option called the Big Mac Consuming Seating Option should be manditory on all american spec cars. This includes seats that the average american (i think im a little above average, which would be good if this were an IQ test) could sit in and at the same time not have enough room for their four year old kid to stand behind them and look over their shoulder. The back seats, no three americans can fit into the back seat of any car. Wide body kits include wider seats. You get the idea. Im not fat, im big boned, honest. And i must also say this, though it has nothing to do with the topic, if you are the "average" american, and you are thinking about putting carbon fibre on your car, lipo would be cheaper and easier.
