I have read that the JDM tranny has a taller gear ratio in 6th.... does anyone know if the USDM has parts available to change final ratio, or if the JDM tranny is easily installable on the USDM STI?
I havent seen the particular question raised, which surprises me, as I have seen almost anyother swap discussed...

The car isn't even in our hands yet. Any answer to those questions is pure speculation.

And unless I'm missing something, I thought our 'American-ized' tranny was taller than the JDM tranny. Did you mean you want a shorter gear?

The USDM gearing is.....

3.636/2.375/1.761/1.346/0.971/0.756

Look around the site....I know we compared the JDM to USDM gearing somewhere before.

FD: 3.90

JDM/Aus STi (and RA)

1st - 3.636
2nd - 2.375
3rd - 1.761
4th - 1.346
5th - 1.062
