anyone know if there are "actual foglights" under the 2004 MY STi foglight covers?

Ummmmm....no. This has been posted to death in the 3 forums I surf....can probably find more info. by doing a search if you need it. I think the mindset was that with the 4 way adjustable HID's you can get a low enough beam pattern so they're not necessary, but that may be wrong.

Just the nature of HIDs pretty much makes fogs useless. I ended up removing the fogs from my Celica after I did the HID conversion because not only could you not see the fog lights, but I couldn't find a decent bulb color to compliment the HID color.

There are fogs available...they'll look just like the WRX fogs. There are some pimp looking blue/yellow ones in the JDM that I might have to snag up.

Yellow foglights are evil!! I hate em. I really really hate em. Everytime i see a lexus with those bright god awful foglights coming at me i turn my brights on. Word!!

Yeah the yellow ones are ugly, but those are true "fog" lights. If people would only used them for what they were intended and not have them on all the time with their headlights.

I've been contemplating whether to get fogs installed or not, since the Canadian model doesn't come with HIDs for some reason. Do you guys think its worthwhile to get the fogs since I don't have HIDs? I have fogs on my 4Runner and they've come in handy a few times. But I do like the look of of car with the STi covers on...

Fog lights do some good....but don't do it expecting a huge difference. The light they do add....it's straight down in front of the car. Unless you only look 10 ft in front of you when you drive....they don't actually give much usable light most of the time.

Ya know, if I got those yellow JDM fogs, I don't think I'd use em much at all. The yellow light (if it is truly yellow) would be annoying as hell. I'd just love the look of them with that front lip. I would consider them an appearance only item.

It occurs to me why the stock JDM fog lights are so much bigger than the projector ones on the US models. It's the US bumper beam that gets in the way so - the smaller fog light!

Sorry for those of you who already knew that. I was contemplating picking up a set of the clear ones but like the JDM version instead of the US version but now I realize I'll have to do major mod if I want it to work.

BTW, the reason I was contemplating the fog lights is actually to make it look closer to the stock WRX.

While I get occasional well wishers for my car, it's the occasional a$$hole who keys your car, steals your emblems or fog covers that make me do the maskirovka to my car!

Fog covers and no wing and I should be good to go. Just another car in the parking lot or parked on the street. Go about your business, nothing to see here...

yellow is a better color for fog lights....but not everyone likes yellow instead of white. I have some JDM Foglights on my 5th gen prelude...an I also have some custom 3series BMW HID's fit into the stock prelude housing....even tho they may not be as noticeable w/ the HID's on....they still look badass
