Hello future STI owners. My name is Desiree Farey and I have handled the Internet department here at Irvine Subaru for the past 8 years.

I will sell the STI sedan for $1,500.00 over dealer invoice to all STi club members on a sold order.

Just give me a call at 800-970-5755 (calif), or 949-837-3500 ext 100 to place your order. You can also e-mail me your information at [email protected] .

When placing the actual order we will require a $500.00 refundable deposit on the vehicle. Then you will be given a VON number, this will be your vehicle order number.

Irvine Subaru is also performance friendly, with SPI motor sports as our after market company.

Out of curiosity, how many are on your list so far?

When i posted my findings a week or two ago, Subaru of Irvine had roughly 28 names down (w/ deposit). Desiree stated that they can fill about 55 of the STI orders.

Zack has 5 on his list and he can handle about 55 as well.

Marine06's numbers are accurate as of about a week ago.

Zack went to another dealership while some management changes take place at Balboa Subaru. I am told that he might be back soon. Terry Rudersville is in charge of Zack's list for now.

PS: can't you order something in Germany with US specs? I am pretty sure you can do it for BMW and Mercedes. Can't do that for Subaru?

Yeah I can order Audi, BMW, VW, Volvo, Saab, Mini, some other domestic cars, possibly Mercedes. None are an Sti though..

Irvine Subaru is about an hour to an hour an half south of LA. You can take either the 5 or the 405 south since they will merge an exit before Irvine Subaru.

I talked to Tom when I was there. I was there at night so Desiree wasnt there but I showed him a print out of the post and he accepted it. Tom is a pretty cool guy and knows his stuff, he used to race so he knows what hes taking about. Im #45 on the list at Irvine. I might head over there this weekend to check up on things.

THUMBS UP for IRVINE Subaru. Spoke to Desiree today. No deposit necessary. SOA is not taking sold-orders. So as the cars are allocated to dealers, they'll be selling it to those waiting on the list. Irvine is pretty big, so Desiree said that on the first allocation they expect about 15-20. She has over 100 ppl on the wait list. Boy it'll be a wait. Sit tight everybody!

I think Subaru will be driven by making a profit and keeping their good reputation, so I believe they will sell as many as they can.

Remember the WRX? Subaru was rumored to build 5,000 the first year. They ended up building 15,000 and even more than that the second year.

That is my hope for the STi as well.

Subaru will definitely sell as many STi as they can, that is no doubt, or they wouldnt be in business. It just seems (thru talking to Desiree) that SOA will not be taking pre-orders of the car... at least not now i guess. Maybe in a month or two. I'm not sure if they will sell as many STi as the WRX though.

If that's the case, there are going to be a lot of unhapy campers, and the "find the dealer in the middle of no where" tactic might be best. The big dealers have been saying that they'll be able to fill all their preorders might have egg on their face.

I'm considering going with Monrovia-based Sierra Subaru...it's a lot smaller but one of the guys from there was at the LAAS and said that they offer complimentary LIFETIME oil changes for as long as you own the car! Irvine only gives you the first one free. This must be something new since I'm almost positive that Sierra Subaru didn't originally offer any oil changes period, which is why I went with Irvine. Although Irvine seems to be more in the know about the STi...
