Re: Stealth-baru! 2012 OBP Wingless STI: Choosing a front lip is serious business

The new rims have arrived!

Sa-15R 18 x 9.5 (+38 offset) 5x114.3 Gunmetallic Black.

Picked them up this afternoon, and hot damn they are nice.

Was slightly concerned about the color in the pictures, but they are perfect.

Closer to black than gunmetal, with an ever so subtle hint of bronze, and very concave on

the spokes, which is exactly what I wanted.

Could not have settled on a better rim in terms of my budget and style choice.

Behold! :domo:

For the lugs I am considering the Muteki SR-35 12x1.15 in Black (of course)

Very nice man, I love concave rims. Cannot wait to see them mounted up!!!
Most definitely. I too cannot wait until April 22nd (my install is on the 21rst)

This old SNL car commercial pretty well describes how I feel about my car:

snl mercury mistress Finally a car you can have sex with - YouTube

The hyper meet is in Toronto yes?

If this is the case I will sadly not be able to go; this whole newborn baby thing really cuts into my car time, not to mention any time that previously was mine. Just finding a couple hours to go get my rims today was a challenge lol.

Nice set-up bro

BTW careful with these rims straight on the asphalt!! Best way to chip the paint!! :(

:tup::tup::tup:
You mean I shouldnt roll them up and down the driveway like that?!

Good looking out, I'll be real careful.

Your story about your weds getting scratches during the alignment/balancing at that place Lachute performance uses has got me paranoid; I will have to be ask Julien to make sure the same does not happen again :scurred:

I know they made good on the whole incident, which is reassuring, but still, best if there are no problems at all.

Patience chicken f*cker (since we referencing super troopers lol)

The install is on April 21st. It seems like an ocean of time separates today from that glorious day.
SOME people don't realize that we had snow up until last week! Our first rain was Friday and so why would we risk putting on our beautiful summer setups to expose them to the leftover mass of salt and grime?!?!

Dude, I think that same weekend, if possible, I will install my new wheels too...I'm just waiting on a hot enough day for paint

Front lip/rear diffuser/rear lips ordered.

Went with the HT Auto stuff. Urethane just made more sense living in Montreal.

The diffuser is the only one that I like in photos, even over the far more expensive stuff.

The front lip looks the nicest with the two sharp pointy sections; reminds me of an Aventador's front lines lol. I just hope it fits perfect, no gaps.

Rear lips will compliment the diffuser.

Skipped the side skirts. Something tells me it look nicer without. If they missing will get them after the fact.

Will probably paint em all OBP of the default color is not nice.

Re: Stealth-baru! 2012 OBP Wingless "family sedan": New rims/Lips Ordered!

Weather is finally nice, got some time in today doing some spring cleaning.

I like to end the winter by getting rid of the scratches, before doing a polish and wax.

And man oh man there were a lot of scratches this year.

Good thing there is my trusty friend, the 3M scratch removal system:

Gets rid of all but the deepest scratches. If your fingernail gets caught in the scratch, this

kit will likely not help.

Took a few shots afterwards with my new camera, that I have not had the chance to use much yet:

Started my research into my eventual engine rebuilt+turbo upgrade. And wow there is a lot of info to absorb.

I know my goal: 370-400whp, very fast spool, and reliable.
This is my daily driver, and I don't want a ride that demands constant
attention, or annoyingly frequent maintenance. Will likely keep a TMIC setup.
Will need a new manifold, headers, amongst other things. Budget will be around 10k.

Will work backwards from my goal.

The Lachute Perf. AK2 short block seems to be the way to go, with a few other additions.

-TGV deletes?
-Forged/balanced crankshaft?
-Oil Separator?
-crankshaft?
-flywheel?
-cosworth high volume manifold?

Turbo wise, it seems that with the fast spool goal I am looking for, a twin scroll
setup seems to be the way to go. Apparently it is more pricey; have to figure
out if it is worth the faster spool payoff.

-dom1.5-xtr ts?
-BorgWarner EFR 7670 Turbo?
-GTX3076R? (not ts)?

The research has begun. Objective is to do this next summer.

A small detail, but today some new STI key chains arrived in the mail :D

Think I will rock the carbon fibre one on my more used keychain;
the metal one has sharp edges, and might get a little 'stabby' from time to time.

Re: Stealth-baru! 2012 OBP Wingless "family sedan": New rims/Lips Ordered!

Just read through your whole thread. Great car, great work! It's awesome to see someone else with similar goals/circumstances as me who puts good time and thought into it. Plus i can certainly relate to the challenges of a young family and having the time and resources to play around with your car (my daughter just turned 1 this past weekend).

Looks like you guys have a good little group up there. I try to get to Montreal/Quebec City at least once a year (usually for F1 weekend unless the wife wants to take a trip) so maybe we can get a little meet going sometime. I'd love to meet you guys and see your cars.

PS, start thinking about picking up side skirts. I think you'll want them once you get the lip and diffuser on.
