I was just curious what cobbs stage 1 target boost was. I read somewhere that it was supposed to be 16 PSI but I'm only seeing the same boost as stock. My STRI gauge only reads 12 PSI, Is this normal?

Mine was 17.6 in the beginning, after a few days/1 week it was 16.5 psi.

Cobb runs most of their Stage 1 maps at 16.5 PSI or so peak. There is not much difference from the factory mapping vs the Cobb mappings. Most of the power increase and performance increase is done by leaning out the fuel a bit, upping the boost a tad and changing the O/L C/L delays. Cobb usually has release notes on what is changed with their mappings. Stage 1 is quite safe on most cars, but a protune is always best.

Remember that there are target boost compensations as well, so if you are at altitude do not expect to ht 16 PSI. If you are near sea level expect a little overboost. The boost control does not "learn". It simply has compensations built into it for temperature and altitude changes.

you can look at my signature I gained nothing from the cobb ots stage1 91 octane map. But it did however quit detontating. Mine detonated on all three pulls with the factory map and then we did three pulls back to back with stage one and it never detontated once.

EDIT: highest boost I ever saw was 15.5psi logged with enginuity (ROMRAIDER) but it was warm outside too

I hit 17.7 psi peak last night.
4th or 5th gear down hill right hand tight turn.
I did have GST baseline the car with the OTS CA91 stage 1 map. On my car, it is still running rich.
I am reading my peak boost from the Ecutek dash monitor, it has a peak record function. I think very accurate.

I don't think I need to check for boost leaks cause the cars only 6 months old. How would I check for it though I'm actually beginning to think its because of elevation that I'm not hitting target boost levels.

Well even with the new map I'm not seeing target boosts if anything its 0.5 lower does anyone know a fix to this like a restrictor pill change? And I did check the boost levels with the accessport it reads the same as my gauge.

age of the car has NOTHING to do with potential boost leaks, i really doubt you are down 5psi from elevation, although i guess it's possible. best bet is to take a log, include boost target, wgdc, and actual boost in the log, and if it's targeting less or if your gauge is off, you'll realize. but if not, you know step 1 is to do a boost leak test and go from there (i have seen leaks in a stock car with under 5k miles. it's not super common but possible, and a boost leak test is pretty cheap)
