SPT/SPS STi Short Throw Shifter? Identify if stock or spt/sps? Differences?

Hi,

I purchased a new 2013 STi Sedan recently and had the dealer throw in the SPT/SPS STi Short Throw Shifter. I went to install the shifter today and noticed that the stock sti shifter looks basically identical and I'm not sure if the car came with the spt/SPS already installed or if I have the right spt/SPS replacement. I want to know if I already have the SPT/SPS installed or not so I can install or get my money back.

Part Number on the brand new shifter is C1010FG600 which seems to match up with the spt/sps short throw shifter.

If anyone could please help me in this matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Left = Removed Shifter From 2013 Sti ..... Right = SPT/SPS? Part Number from Box: C1010FG600

Stock Removed - AWLL702

New Shifter - AWKY08

Stock Removed (Shaft) - CHLL611

New Shifter (Shaft) - GNKX01

Thanks,
Tim

I believe the difference is on AWKY08 and AWLL702. Check out the length and bent (angle and location).
The other components are identical.

I tried measuring different areas with a piece of string but it was hard to determine if there were any differences between the two or not. I will have to look around for a protractor or something to measure the angles.
I was puzzled myself when I installing mine.
The difference in throw is really minuscule but when mated with the STI rear shifter bushing each shift feels just right for me.
Any update? I want to know the difference too.
I measured mine when I was doing it a few weeks ago.
The difference is only in GNKX01 and CHLL611, in that the cylindrical thing sits about 3/8" or slightly less higher off the pivoting ball. You can even see it on the pic above, look at the length of the metal part below the u-joint connection place and above the pivot. It's subtle, but it's there. And it adds up, basically, to shorten the throws by 10% (as this shifter is claimed to) the u-joint would have to sit 10% higher, and it is.
There is no other easy way to do it with the same lower rod of the linkage.

The AWKY08 and AWLL702 seemed identical to me, they are most certainly the same length, but it's tough to identify a tiny bit sharper bend, so it _might_ still be different, but I'm not convinced it is.

I'll add my own pic to this topic, where I tried to illustrate this.
