Hmm, I need to think about this. I'd think that you'd rather have an amp capable of more power then the speakers can handle. This way if you're looking for louder music your amp will not have to work near peak. Distortion from clipped amplitudes will lead to high DC voltages which will blow the speaker. I'd go with amps that supply more power than your speakers RMS values state.
