Hey Guys,

I just put down a deposit on a WRX STI in Canada. I just have a couple of questions (I couldn't find any info on this in the FAQ)

1) Color - Does the STI only come in Black / Blue / Silver only?
2) Theft Rate - I used to own an Integra Type R until it was towed off my driveway at night....is the STI a theft magnet too?

2) I never heard of any Subaru being high on the theft list but special cars attract special attention. Guess we just have to be as cautious as possible.

According to STiholic's post it comes standard with a security system though (at least in Canada - I can't imagine that wouldn't be true for US model).

So far, everything says we only get keyless entry, not a security system.

Somebody tried to steal my Type R too. Back then i lived in a condo building that had an underground parking garage under the condos. It was also a security building. So the first question was how the hell did they get in the building? Anyways neighbors woke me up and said my car had been vandalized. I went down and both my drivers and passengers windows were broken. They popped the hood(after damaging it) cut the battery and disabled the alarm. But the passive key(a standard option on 2000 and higher type r's) stopped em from stealing it. Thats what the acura tech told me stopped em at least. so then they tried to steal my stereo components. But i had a neat little trick for em. All my speakers and my head unit were back-strapped to the car so they couldn't pull em outta the holes they were in. So then they apparently broke em all cause they musta been mad. So i had to replace both windows, my hood, head unit, 3 speakers, one turn signal light, part of my dash and my recaro srd drivers seat(glass ripped it). Also i had my Type R specific acura emlems stolen 4 times, so i eventually left em off. Now lets not forget all the hillbillies in trucks/mustangs etc. who f**k with you on the road just because you are in a "rice burner". Oh and i especially liked when my tires were slashed when i visited a friend(an iron worker) on his job site. He told me crap like that happens when you drive imports to union employed worksites. Yeah let me tell you, owning a special edition import car sucks when it comes to theft and vandalizism. Thats life though. Peace!!
