So who here is thinking about going or have already made plans to go to Detroit?

I know that myself and Nate have already made plans. I will be there from January 11 to January 14 (Saturday thru Tuesday). Nate is going to be there Sunday and Monday.

How about anybody else? Anybody live in Detroit or around there? I know that I will need a ride from/to the airport. I will pay gas money, take you to dinner, whatever. I would rather do that than pay a cab...

Alfredo and I are going to the LA Autoshow on Jan 10th. If the rumors are correct we will have pictures first. Go figure.

I need to check the calendar here. I know I'm in Hawaii sometime after the first of the year. Might be back in time, but that may be just a little too much traveling all at once.

For those of us unfortunate enough to make it....we want pictures within hours of you taking them!!!!

The STi WAS going to be at the LA Auto Show. I have a copy of the Subaru Memo in front of me right now that describes the change in plans. I will type the applicable portion here for everyone to see.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to reschedule and change venues for the 2003 WER Dealer Meeting. The meeting will no longer be held at the LA Auto Show on January 9th. Instead, the 2003 WER Dealer Meeting will now be held January 16th at the Utah International Auto Expo in Salt Lake City from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

STi will NOT be at the LA Auto Show.

The story I got is as follows:

"Circumstances beyond our control" = the folks running the LA Auto Show would not let the STi be brought in after the beginning of the show and Subaru would not bring the STi in until after it had been shown to the press in Detroit/Chicago, so Subaru opted out of the LA Auto Show all together. So they are shipping the LA STi to Salt Lake City Utah.

Oh well, it all seems too political for me. :roll: :x

I would think that LA-AS was pissed because they were the brides-maid in this case and not the bride. :roll: I still think that is a bad attitude, because the STi will attract MANY visitors where ever it shows up. Now, people that were thinking of going to LA may not even go.

I'm still gonna go just in case things change. I don't wanna miss out just b/c of some rumor that may very well turn out incorrect
(let's hope!) ...btw, I just spoke to Jeremy of Irvine Subaru and he had heard the same thing that the STi might not be at LA AS but then there was still debate, and it might show up after all. Given that Marine06 spotted one in CA (given also that he wasn't seeing things hehe) I'd say there's still a good chance it'll be here. There's gotta be more than one STi test car here in the states, right?

Whats up guys, I am new to this forum, and finally got off of my lazy a** and registered!! I am planing on attending this show in detroit, finally!!! its been a dream to go, and now It is a perfect time, since i get to see my STI in real life! me and my buddys are getten a lil road trip togther and leave the 10th-the 14th, so i am prett darn excited to meeet you guys, i left the Rx-7 scene for the all new wild STI!!! So if anyone plans on stoppen in milwaukee or chicago give me a shoot maybe we can meet!
