Ok, they finally did it, and we are all in a lustful hedonistic frenzy . Where is the MSRP? Are they afraid that the price will throw a bucket of ice on us? Even the lowly EVO was unveiled with the sticker price if I am not mistaken. I got a bad feeling about this.... Show me the MONEY!!!!

According to SOA VP it will be in the low 30s. That to me means anywhere from 31-33K. Not bad for what you get and what the EVO got for the 29K MSRP.The EVO announced their MSRP because it is on sale next month, where as the STi will not be available until this summer.

That info was from the MSN article==>http://autoshow.msn.com/autoshow2003/article.aspx?xml=Subaru

....but they also said/hinted that the price was going to be less the same as the EVO. Now it is slowly marching upward....and this does not take into consideration the dealer "market adjustment." I am happy it is here, but there is no need to hold the cards so close to the vest now.

I think that's just a show car...so there are gonna be add-ons that won't be available in the production STi. I noticed the radio also...

But hey 300 horses is music to my ears!

did anyone notice in the msn link above that there was a audio system and the top pic shows the sti with spec c-like gold wheels, not normal sti wheels? are we getting those?
It says somewhere towards the end of the article that the audio system will be available as an option installed by the dealer

hey yea the radio is an option becasue of a weight reduction on the STI model but then they went and said that the dealership will allow an optional radio to be placed in.....i think a nice 6 disc would be nice like the wrx has....but then again i dont want to sound ricish a 2 lb radio might slow us down in drag racing lol ahahha jus messen

but yea those wheels are pretty nice, im sure we'll have an option wheel...i honestly would like to see the options book if there is one, considering the car is an OPTION as it sits lol

whoa...did you guys notice that little neat thing they built into the gauges?

"Offering a preview the vehicle's performance potential, all the gauge needles swing to their maximum positions when the ignition is switched on, then fall back to their normal positions."

That is COOL!! I wonder if they'll start up the STi so we can see that haha

Does anyone know if DCCD, HID etc are options or standard? If they are standard equip we will be going around 31-32k base.
These are my sentiments also. I hope that they are standard and not options. If they are I will pay $35K for the car, but I don't want to..I would prefer the $30-$33K.

I happen to be in the dealer today and the regional rep showed up out of no where. He said the announcement of the MSRP will be on the 11th of this month. He even confirmed it on the phone to someone from corporate. So I don't know how true this is but everything we talked about seem to be true to today's announcement of the STI. He also said low to mid 30s. I hope this helps :D

any rumors about options for the sti??

I don't think Subaru will go much over 31-31.5k... Let me give you my well-constructed message :) :)

The WRX is not as fast as the Evo VIII but is cheaper from a few thousands $$$... The STi will be faster than the Evo VIII and it will be higher priced and that's ok also.

NOW, what I think is: For us that are here on imprezawrxsti.com we are already sold to the Subaru and can say "Evo VIII sucks!"... People on the Evo VIII (go check evolutionm.net) and they said that Subaru sucks because they are sold to the Evo VIII EITHER if the STi has more HP/torque. You get my point? Subaru will aim to a price that would make a buyer that is NOT certain wich between the Evo VIII or the WRX STi to buy. With a small difference people will get the STi because:
The price difference won't be to big
The benifits from the STi will be major...

For most of us, either at 33-34k and either 35k we would buy because we are sold to the car but it's not like that for everybody.

This was my 2 cents folks,

Sylvain
