Sorry, that blows...how bad? Post a pic....I have been amazed over and over again at how good of a job the alloy wheel repair guys can do. I and several friends have had several badly curbed wheels repaired to flawless condition. Assuming no cracks or bends, you might want to look into this....way, way cheaper than buying a new wheel.

I don't have a pic handy, but it's probably a 4" x 1/4-1/2" scrape. I'm in talks via e-mail with RimPro in MA to see what they can do. My hesitation is with the diamond black finish of the newer wheels, trying to replicate the look.

Someone had mentioned on an Evo forum that there was a GM paint code that was close, so I got some touch-up paint and it wasn't even close. I was quoted $220 to fix the wheel (assuming they match it) but factoring in tire removal and remounting, I'm definitely open to a replacement instead.

I may give the touchup a shot first. Worst case I'm sure I could resell this rim. I'm just so annoyed with myself that I hit a curb in my own driveway. I have a useless decorative island in the center of it. I was ONE DAY away from putting on my winter wheels, which would have been annoying, but less painful that ruining my "nice" wheel.

There is a thread on here with the exact color code from just a couple of weeks ago. Do a search, you should be able to find it.

Thanks for the heads up. I wish it was a small enough spot to repair easily. I'm taking the rim to RimPro tomorrow night to have it refinished, but I'm thinking I may still eventually get another one to have a matching set that hasn't been refinished. Maybe I'm being OCD.

So RimPro in MA wouldn't touch the finish on these wheels.

Back to the drawing board. I want a single wheel. I'll trade my set of four for a set of BBS REs! (in my dreams!)

Always have the option of ordering from the dealership. Will cost you an arm, leg and first born. My local dealership had a full set they ordered and had an issue with the paint not matching perfect to the true color but I didn't mind the minor difference so they sold them to me for the price of one 950-990 I cant remember. They are my track day wheels.

Honestly, for $900 at the dealer, I'd be better off purchasing a second full set from a member, and reselling the set with my bad wheel.

Although, knowing how the paint process is on these wheels, I'm wondering if I got another single wheel if it would be a perfect match.

I will have to purchase some of that touchup paint to at least get the wheel back to all one color and then see what I can find. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone with a set of BBS RE that wants to do a straight trade for these! (in my dreams)
