This is my first post, I'm not good with computers but here go's.
First off, let me state that this car is absolutely amazing, I mean I feel
like a 10 year old kid on Christmas eve. I would like nothing more than
to go to my local dealer (planet subaru in Flagstaff AZ) and buy the
blue/silver that is available RIGHT NOW!!! However, after tt&l and markup
i'm looking at almost 37k. Should i wait a year so all of the kinks are worked out, and final price is somewhere around 33k? Dont get me wrong, I want this car sooooo bad, but it is still an Impreza (and stripped at that). Is it really justifiable that this car is nearly 9k more than a wrx

I picked up my blue w/silver wheels today and it costed me 33.4K "out of the door" price. Don't believe the hype- you can get one much cheaper than 37K!

Still an Impreza? The Impreza is a very well built car! Stripped? I hardly call simply missing a stereo "stripped". It has DCCD. It has adjustable HID's. It has 300 horses and 300 ft-lbs of torque. In short, the most powerful factory-built Impreza ever, even more than in Japan! Finally we have a car the rest of the world envies :D

You wanna talk stripped...check out the EVO...doesn't come with alot of the features that the JDM EVO has, for example, AYC. Our STi has the same features and then some!

I wouldn't be paying 37K off the lot unless you added on some optional equipment. It is worth 33K off the lot in my mind. Waiting for MY 2005 might be good in that the few weaknesses that the STi has may be worked out, such as the steering being less crisp compared to the EVO's. Only the EVO can compare in terms of price/performance ratio...but then it's "still a Mitsubishi"

i just bought mine for $32,600 out the door. (no options; and VA has only 3% tax on cars.). curiously, my dealer was heavily marking up the two stis the held in reserve. then today, i saw they remove their markup page and are selling it at sticker. the dealers and the buyers are coming to their senses. ain't capitalism great? :) bottom line: you can buy @ msrp. just look around.

Well, I just got a "BIG" letter via the fax today from SOA..., from the reps "asking" politely of the dealers not to sell Subies for over MSRP. Now, I think most of the smaller dealers will abide but I don't think that the big ones will.....

I can scan it if you want me too....

Would you please. We can take a copy to our dealers and politely ask them to honor the Manufacturers request. Hah! It can't hurt...

Thanks.

Mr. Murley, kind sir. I would love to buy my car from you but it is not very convenient as the distance between us is somewhat significant. As such, please post the memo as my frikkin' local dealer says he's gonna try to get 5k over MSRP for the first 3 to 6 months! Damn!
