Like the title says, very short experience with my STi... Loved the car and it breaks my heart to see her like this. But she is considered a "total loss" :(

Jesus! I hope everyone is alright? If you walked away from it with little to no injuries then I would say the car did it's job. Sad to see one go out like this but cars can be replaced - more important things can't.
yeah, i was the only passenger in the car. walked away without a scratch. Airbag deployed like it should and all.
That sucks balls dude. Glad you're ok

Yikes, sorry to see that, but cars are just cars, at least you walked away. Did you have snow tires on?

Thats what i keep telling myself, but it still blows. and I did not have snow tires on. Probably would have been a different out come if i did.

Damn that sucks. You weren't running summer tires in the snow, were you? Those things are worse than bald tires in the rain driving behind a car dumping oil.

was heading to work, we had just got about 3" of snow... coming into a turn, only the car didnt turn it went straight. Took out 4 aluminum poles about 3" in diameter concreted in the ground, which explains the right rear wheel tucking up in the body. they were some cheap a** tires that came on the car when i bought it...

Anyway ended up hitting head on with a telephone pole...
Glad to hear your ok man
thanks man, Will be test driving a Grand Cherokee for the wife... wish me luck
Glad you're OK, OP!

Yeah, the situation sucks, but you're OK...your car can be replaced...you can't.
Once again, glad you're okay....

Not to be insensitive, but any chance your passenger headlamp survived sort of intact? I have been looking forever to try to find the innards for a passenger headlamp as my clear lens is good, but it flexed enough when I hit Bambi to break the inner reflector.
So no more STI?
not as of now... that was my first car that me and the wife bought as a couple, going to get her a vehicle now.
Glad you're OK, OP!
thanks!

I'm not really sure, i know both head lights are sitting inside the car. have yet to hear from the total loss department to know whether or not i can get the vehicle back or not? Not really sure how all that works, seeing as this is my first accident...
See if you can scoop them, I will be happy to pay you for them if you can! If they total the car, they likely won't much care...
Did you have winter tires on the car?

Its really too bad but why wouldn't you get another STi? You only had it a few months so it basically doesn't count as ownership and now you're going to get a Jeep like you used up your "new car card" and she gets hers now. There should be some sort of exception made with a situation like this. There is no way in hell a Cherokee will be anywhere near as smile inducing as an STi.

Was wondering about that too.

OP, what will you be driving if she's getting a Jeep? Or, is it that she's picking your car for you?
