My wife and I are annoyed by the passenger seat, because you can't lower it like you can the drivers' one. So it occurred to me -- could I get a JDM drivers' seat (since they drive on the other side) and swap it in for the passenger seat? Or are the Japanese seats a completely different design?

Anyone know?

seats are different design but you could buy the seat take the rails off and fit them to the passenger seat I believe. It would be a reverse install, in that no one else has done it and most want to swap the passenger Jdm seat with the passenger USDM seat rails.
oh and this should be in the interior section by the way.

Yes, you can just put in the JDM driver's seat, and it'll have the raise/lower lever on it. The problem is finding a JDM driver's seat by itself. Good luck.

I would get a sweet recaro or Sparco racing seat for yourself, and then fit the JDM driver seat that you have for the CoPilot
