Will the Samco/Perrin IC hose and turbo inlet hose help out the STi? They have good results with the WRX, but I have not read about the hoses on the STi.

The question is.......are the WRX and STi IC and turbo inlet hoses the same quality as the WRX hoses?

Thank you for your participation in this quandry.

The inlet hose looks to be identical to the WRX.

When you look down behind the IC though, it looks like we have a different configuration. From what I can tell, the Y hose on the back of the IC is made of aluminum. ??

I'd say go for the turbo inlet hose......Dunno about the IC hoses though.

the hoses are smoother on the inside and I believe have a larger inner diameter which results in less pressure loss after the turbo.

Man...you are on some kind of a roll! you're going to be out of parts to buy or money to buy them here pretty quick! ;)
I am working REAL hard to make as much money as possible. I would prefer neither of the above two senarios. :p

I want a ECU upgrade for Christmas. My wife better start saving now!

Hummer tried a short ram intake already....looks nice there are no intakes that are working quite right with the STi without some kind of ECU tuning. All intakes are losing power on the low end.

The best intake mod at this time if you want a 'racy' sound is to remove the resonator.

I have both hoses now. The problem is that the Samco maf hose does not fit the Perrin turbo inlet hose. The Samco hose is too big. Now I have the pleasure if paying $5.45 to return the Samco hose. The major irk in this deal is that I emailed MPJ Performance before buying the samco. I asked "will the Perrin turbo inlet hose fit with the samco maf hose?" They said yes and I bought one. I am keeping the Perrin and ditching the samco. IMHO, A tubo inlet hose is much more important than a maf hose {performance wise anyway}.

I agree.....when you attempting that sucker? Need any help?
My local shop is going to put it in on Wednesday. They said less than an hour if I don't need my stock turbo inlet hose. Much more time invloved if I want to keep the stock because they have to pull the manifold. Bye Bye stock turbo inlet.

New purchase! I bought a cargo net for the STi. I was tired of stuff rolling in the trunk and denting my sub grill. The idea was from http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1856
I puchased it from subaruparts.com

Anyone free next weekend? Let us join together and celebrate the STi with food. :D

I think I might be up for something this coming weekend. I need to check with the little wife...we're trying to find excuses not to go to a shitty wedding this weekend......I should be around. It's Zaino weekend!
I love Zaino! I have always used the z1+z2 but I guess that I can move forward into the zfx generation. :p

I received my JAX intercooler screen today. I still took hits to the IC fins with my scoop screen. I hate bent fins.

I had the Perrin turbo inlet hose put in today. Where to start.........I arrived to pick up my car and I took it for a test drive. It ran horrible and I got a CEL and flashing cruise control light. That indicates a vacum problem. They find a vacum hose that popped off. The next test drive was also bad. I decide to take a walk and get a gatorade. I came back and they ciphered it out. One of the injectors was partially disconnected. Yup...that would probably make it run poor. I would have bought a Geo if I wanted three cylinders. It now runs GREAT. I don't really notice much by my butt dyno, but my Perrin catch can is fully funtional. The Perrin turbo intake does not have a crank case oil return nipple. My crank oil return{wrong terminology?} now goes to a T to join the valve oil return in dumping in the catch can.

I have updated pictures here.

Hey Hummer - nice find on the cargo net. Thanks. I was going to try and rig something up but this is vastly superior.
