Reflections on GR STi Acceleration and potential..

I have realized that the GR, with more weight than the GD, Stiffer springs, lowering, bigger rims, and taller gear ratios, has a lot working against it initially in the acceleration department as compared to an older GD. However, I often wondered if it would turn around and respond to stage 1/2 mods yielding better ETs initially than a GD would in the same circumstances.

looking over some slips, I ran a 13.7 with my GR stock, and I ran a 13.3 with my GD stock on their first runs ever, with similar 60' times. The GD pulled away from 60-330, and the GR matched the GD's gate time from 330-660, and after that the GD pulled yet again. I remember those runs very well, and I did not miss a shift. In fact, my average shift time is pretty damn quick.

.4 seconds seems like a lot to make up initially with mods. But I heard that stage 1 on a GR is like going stage 2 with a GD. Hopefully that proves true and gets me back to what I am missing.. which is my old, neck-wrenching, chiropractor employing STi GD.

what trap speeds did you get for both stock? would LOVE to look at slips for both, stock vs stock and with the same driver.

You know what I'll try to dig this up when I return from business travel. I am in NH this week, but it i remember anything close it was 92.5ish vs 99.5ish.
