I'm in the market for a good radar detector, does anyone have any recomendations as to models or makes... I don't want to drop crazy cash... as they are illegal here and can be confiscated at any time by an officer.

I would say a V1 but in your case maybe a cordless one or something small so you can hide it. Better yet maybe a K40 that mounts the detectors in the front grill and rear of the car. Then they install the indicators in the dash that are basically little lights. No one would know you had it.
