This car, which looks to me like a MY98/MY99 Turbo 2000 has "carbon effect" lens protectors fitted to the headlight clusters. These are plastic covers that clip over the lights to protect the lenses from flying stones, cattle, barracudas, satellites, etc. I had them on my MY99 Sportswagon and they were an excellent investment - much cheaper than replacing the lenses. Has anyone seen a similar product for the STi?

You can get the same effect by taking most headlight assemblies apart and then painting those areas. I saw a pic of a guy that did it on his STi. He took his apart to clear the yellow parts and figured while he was at it he would paint the areas between the lights. I did not care for it on his because he had a lighter colored STi, white or silver, I don't remember. I would only bother if I had a black STi. I am also not too crazy about having to bake the headlight in the oven, take it apart, then try to get a water tight seal when putting them back together.
