Okay so after blowing my motor I am going to build it sometime soon. Hopefully this summer. My question was i want 380-400 to the wheels(i know dyno blah blah blah) but thats my goal.

Talking to a local shop they quoted me 6500 for a fully forged block. 1000 off if my heads are fine. Considering my rebuilt oem block is 1500 miles old i Pray they are.

Now IAgs stage 2 is like 2999 right now.

which is a better choice and the shop is pretty busy so their emails have been coming slow. I was just wondering what they mean by fully forged like what does that include especially at that price

At 5500 Thats a similar price to TIC honey badger engine. Just looking for some advice here and weather that pricing is dare i say GUCCI

More info needed. What does $5500 include?

You've seen the IAG web page.
IAG Performance Subaru Short Block Built Engines for WRX, STI, Legacy GT, Spec B and Forester XT.
For $5500 you'd be getting a closed deck block with Cosworth pistons. They could be giving you the price for this blocl They could be planning to get an basic IAG block and marking it up. The might plan on actually rebuilding your block themselves. Personally I'd want a Subaru specialist shop to do my block, and if I weren't doing the install I'd want that shop to do the install too.

You do have a HP plan. Still probably best to start with these threads:

How much did you spend

ADDED: Can't find the old ones I was looking for.

Maybe the first shop you mentioned is going to use billet crankshaft and sleeve the block. They'll probably add a couple hundred bucks on the final price of the block too for profit.

I've been really happy with my IAG block. At 1500 miles break-in and haven't had any issues.

My iag stage 2 tuff block has been holding on quite well after 50k miles and 28 psi of complete daily driven at 450whp. Doesnt burn oil is quiet on start up. Forged pistons, rods, acl bearings and arp headstuds. Stock heads have 100k on them.
