im going to be putting down a deposit for an sti on wednesday at franks irvine subaru. if i put down a deposit then that means that when the car comes out that they should sell it to me for MSRP without any markups right? and that the $500 deposit will be applied to the purchase of the car right? and i should get them to have it in writing stating those facts right?

thanks

Be sure you are dealing with Desiree Fairie. She will fill you in on the details that I discussed with her...

Any deposit you put down before the STi is officially announced is up to the dealer. Subaru does not sanction the practice, and there is a lot of room for the dealer to take advantage of you. They are under no obligation to sell you the car at MSRP, or even sell you a car period. If you can get them to give you something in writing that states that they will sell you the car at MSRP, then you are ahead of the game. I have yet to find a dealer that will take money in advance and give me anything in writing.
