Hello all, Currently I am driving a G35 coupe, 6 speed. I was curious how the acceleration of the STi would compare to the G, specificly in the 50-70 or 60-80 range. now, I know the STi suffers from its AWD at high speeds due to drivetrain. Any input from current drivers or whomever would be much appreciated :) thanks guys

I cannot find the article right now, but I did read somewhere that the 30-50 and 50-70mph specs were in the mid 2'x s and low 3.x sec, respectively. I'll keep looking...

It depends what gear you are in. In top gear the 30-50 will be slightly faster in the G35 I would think due to no turbo lag, while the 50-anything will be faster in the STI for similar reasons and more HP

If you're both in the lowest gear for that speed then you'll be faster in the sti in both cases, hands down

BTW, I'm liking the look of those G35 more and more. Nice car - maybe my soon to be wife will get one of those 8)

The Numbers

I know it's not a G, but how about a Z?
The Z is 2.2sec 30-50mph and 3.1sec 50-70mph.
The STi is 1.9sec 30-50mph and 2.6sec 50-70mph.

That means the STi can pass 0.3 and 0.5 seconds faster than a 350Z at street and freeway speeds, respectively. I'd expect the difference between the STi and G35 to be slightly larger.

Check for yourself at Sport Compact Car. 350Z:

Peace out to all G35's and 350Z's,
