Quality FMIC, decent price? GO!

Hey guys,

I have a 2011 WRX (Sorry, I know it's not an STi), anyway, I have a Perrin TMIC, and paid almost $700 for it, since I upgraded, the throttle body coupler ( even after t-bolts and an upgraded TB coupler) pops off every month or so, which makes me rip my car apart just for it's own sake. So I think it's time to go front mount. I don't want something with horrible fitment that's going to make me hack the front end of my car up like the "fast motorsports" FMIC, but I also can't afford to drop $1,500 on the Perrin Front Mount, any suggestions? Thanks, as always, you guys are great!..... unlike Nazi-oc.

Look into racerx. It's cheap practically no hacking and you keep your stock crash beam, fog lights and coolant overflowbottle. http://racerxengineering.com/
It sounds like you need a new coupler, not a front mount.

Unless you are pushing over 400+hp, a front mount is a waste of money. Being in WVA where you get snow like we do, then it might not be the most practical mod for you.

How does one diagnose if the TMIC is not performing adequately, short of replacing it?

Measure inlet and outlet temperatures.
