Hi,

First post here, am about to go buy a STi from out of state. Never bought a new car out of state, and was wondering how taxes are done. I am told I will need to pay taxes when I return to Georgia with the car. Just wondering if taxes means Count on having a check for 6-7% of the sales price when I register the car, or Just having to pay taxes in the form of Tags/Ad Val. etc.

Thank you for your help.

if the dealers customer oriented  , they should look up the appropriate tax rate in your home town and THEY can (and should) take care of the paperwork. i bought 3 cars out of state. the first one i paid the taxes at home and it amounted to more leg work than i care for. the last two the dealer taxed me at my at my home town rate and just sent in the paperwork for me... MUCH more convenient :p good luck with the one of most imprezzive machines you'll ever drive!
