The SCCA "Rim of the World Rally" will take place in Southern California (Palmdale, CA) on May 2 (Fri) and 3 (Sat) at Pelona Vista Park near HWY 14 and Palmdale Blvd (actually 14 and Rayburn Rd). This is Round 2 of the SCCA Pro Rally Series and presented by Subaru. This is a BIG event.
There will be a 2004 WRX STI on display according to the brochure I recently received. Go to www.rimoftheworldrally.com for more info. Should be a good time as there will be vendors, pro rally racing and did I mention the STI?!! Sayonara! :p

www.rimoftheworldrally.com is a fantastic website that lists the schedule of all the events (car show, tech inspection, rally, service breaks, spectator viewing areas, etc.) Checkout what the 80+ entrants are driving. Even if you can't be there, there is a wealth of pics of cars in action from the past 3 years of the "Rim of the World Rally" Enjoy.

I walked 5 miles, plus I stood in the freezing rain(literally!!) for 3-4 HOURS!! And I didn't get to see one damn car zip down the track! After all the delays I don't even know if they started the race or not.

Ok I got to go back into bed right now....I am still way too cold!

I was at the top of Spunky Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest with "neisius" and a couple of hundred others who say NOTHING. Rally kept getting delayed (over 2 hours for that stage) and most everyone gave up by the time I had left. Weather conditions were BAD. 2.5 mile walk up the mountain (one way), in the clouds, mud, 35+ MPH wind, and temperatures in the mid 40's. My Gore-Tex jacket kept me from getting wet but my pants were soaked. This IS SoCal and I really wasn't prepared for that. Few were. I was headed for the land of hypothermia when I decided to leave. It was interesting but I wouldn't call it enjoyable.
