Hello,

does anyone know the expected or the real price difference, in the UK or anywhere else, there will be between the WRX and the STi? So I can know what to expect in the US!

In a recent article in the British EVO magazine the STi was listed as 30,000GBP (circa $45,000). I have no clue what this will mean to the US market. Many seem to think that the US model will be a lot less, but I have yet to hear a compelling argument or reasonable answer as to why this would be?

And what is the price for the basic WRX in UK, I want to figure out how much of a difference there is, knowing that I have paid my WRX 28K$US! I wanna know if I can dream about the STi or I should just stick with my basic (but very awesome) WRX!

**Keep in mind that the price for the STi has not been set yet, 30,000 is a rumor. It will probably be lower.

I'll look up the Japanese prices, the austrailian prices and New Zealand prices and post them here also. :grin:

Yes I would definitly expect the price to be lower, if we compare, the base price here is a bit under 24,000$ so we could expect the STi to be at worst in the low 30K! Iwish it will be!

Don't forget, those UK prices include 17.5% VAT, road tax, tags, etc. The actual base price is only $25984 US. Base price of the UK300 (with performance pack) is $32349 US. I would expect the price of the STi in the UK to be similar. In other markets, the STi commands about 20-30% more than the regular model, which would make a $33k price tag about right for the UK. Barring any price increases for the standard WRX, I would predict the US base price for the STi to be $29995. I expect 2 color choices at most for the initial offering, one of them being rally blue, possibly the new bright yellow as the second. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all blue and shared all the same equipment.

if we do an average of the other country pices, would you all agree pn saying 30K shoul really be the aiming price of Subaru USA...unless they get us with an even better version...but dont think that's going to happen!

JJ's right on - low 30s will have to be the price point. There's not that huge of a difference between the cars that would make it a ~$40k automobile.
