I got this sandblasting place down the road that powdercoats and on the phone I said I wanted them subaru gold and he saidbhe didn't know what subaru gold was lol maybe he was being a duck and if I tell him the rim Bbs gold he can look it up.. they have a great reputation. It's a sandblasting and powdercoat shop.
No its legit. When it comes to powder coating, prismatic powders is considered to be one of the best. If you take a look on the prismatic website, there is no specific color for subaru gold. Some places will come up with a their own mixture of colors and textures to get to a close to the oem color as possible but its not always exact. Keep in mind the OEM color has changed multiple times over the years. 04-07 is different from 08-10 and once again different from 2015. I dont think its possible to get a powder coat in a specific subaru color. I believe subaru colors are just basically spray overs. If thats what you want, then having the wheels refinished may be something you may want to consider. However, I wouldnt expect the quality of a true powder coating job.
I just had my oem bbs wheels on my 2011 powder coated. I wanted to go for the oem hyper silver and my place explained alot of this to me. They told me that OEM color isnt going to be possible with a prismatic powder. We choose to go with something similar but yet very different. I ended up going with Silver flop from prismatic. I couldnt be happier with the results. Here are some quick iphone shots I have. Pictures definetly dont do it justice. In the light these look amazing!

I have another set of these same wheels in gold I use for summer. I plan on having this same place powder coat them is prismatic goldtastic right before the summer.
