I live in Texas, Houston to be exact.

I just called my local Subaru dealer with questions and a genuine interest in placing down a deposit.

I was told (rather rudely I might add) that they were not taking deposits. When I asked when they would be and what amount, I was told sometime in Feb - Mar and that the amount would be $2000!!

I was then told that the deposit would be NON-Refundable =(

What is the deal here?

Does anyone in Texas or somewhere near have information on a friendly helpful Subaru dealer that is willing to work WITH their customers and NOT AGAINST them?

Thanks a ton all,

looking forward to a new car soon I hope.... hehe!

How a bout it guys. Is there a dealer in Texas that wants to be added to our list of STi club approved dealers?

The dealers have not been coming to us as much as we have been finding them and letting others know in the forums. Someone do some calling around in TX and find a dealer that will take MSRP, or less on a Presale deal.

You need to ask for the Fleet Manager when you call. Do not talk to the sales people.
