we're getting our cars. what are people's reactions or what are they saying when they see the car?
i've had mine for 16 days. i think i've averaged one comment per day from strangers at stoplights, parking lots, etc. i've had conversations with a few drivers at stoplights (rsx-s, viper, mustang drivers), all of them expressing some level of awe at the car. the viper driver, who was oggling the car as we were rolling through traffic, pulled up next to me at the head of the line at a stoplight, paused a second, and gunned his v10 -- beautiful sound. i looked over and said "i've only got 150 miles or i'd gladly accept your offer". (i was kidding of course.) we laughed, talked briefly about what the sti and the viper was like to drive, etc.
i was recently driving through DC, about to make a right turn. there was a break in tourist pedestrian traffic, so i slowly crept through. a small group of highschoool aged guy were crossing and as i passed through, i heard on of 'em say excitedly to the others, "omg, look! that's the new sti!!".
i was at a church retreat this weekend. i pulled in to the drive way and met my parents and sister. about a hour later, we went out to the car. an older guy came up to us and said "i've been admiring your car. you blew past me on rt78. i've been wanting one of these. i love the white...yada yada yada..."
the parents in our neighborhood have been telling me that my car is the talk at the dinner table among their kids. i've given a few kids a ride in it. they walk away giggling and smiling.
it is funny to drive through any town and see people stop what they're doing to stare. 80% are probably saying, "that is ridiculous".
of course, my mom's reactions is "please drive carefull!!"
