Parking/Ebrake Light turns on under hard acceleration

Hey guys.

I have a 2011 STI hatch that has been giving me some issues lately. When I accelerate hard in the lower gears (1,2,3). The parking light on the dash comes on once I feel the car lean backwards.

After search similar issues, it seems the biggest culprit would be low brake fluid, so I topped mine off to the proper levels and it still does it.

I checked my e-brake switch and it is still intact, hasn't fallen off or anything, the e-brake does not lift up while accelerating like a originally thought was the issue.

I checked the brake pads, and they seems pretty worn, it looks like I have 1-2mm of pad left in the front, the feeler/ indicator, is almost rubbing on the rotor. Would worn pads cause this? I can't think of any scenario where having worn pads would cause the dash light to come on only when accelerating.

Any help would be nice, I'm trying to eliminate any easy fixes before I take it in for warranty work.

EDIT: Wow it seems like this is a common problem in newer STI/WRX. Looks like most fixes are to fill the reservoir, I am going to over fill mine a tiny bit and go for a quick drive to see if it still does it, it might be a bad sensor in the reservoir.

yea i bet it's that sensor, make sure you're not leaking somewhere and warranty that sensor.
solved, some how the floater got stuck, I was able to take some fluid out tap on the reservoir and fill it back up, its been fine now for 2 days.

what do you mean the floater?

i noticed the same thing happening with me, but i thought because my brake
fluid was prolly getting low..
My car had that (!) while WOT issue.

Did the brakes on the 4 corners and now it's ok.

I think it's a low brake fluid problem, I read that somewhere, dunno if it's true though.
My pads are worn down I am doing them within a week, but even after I topped the fluids off, it was still doing it.

I siphoned some out with a syringe and tapped on the reservoir when it was a tiny bit under the mid line and filled it back up, I haven't seen the issue since.

Was it low brake fluid? Probably, but the first time I filled it up, I went a sliver over the max line and the issue continued..
