P000D: B camshaft position slow response bank 1 code

One of the causes of the slow response (If it is the AVCS sensor) is material ending up in your oil. For example bearing wear, rings, cylinder walls etc will break down and that will end up in the oil flow to the point where it causes sensors that deal with oil pressure to have issues remaining accurate. Now when that does go on it is not from normal wear, most engines that experience this problem will ultimately need to be cracked open and re built. An easy way to diagnose this issue is when changing the oil the code should clear as it now has fresh oil with out material built up in it.

Another simpler cause is sometimes the plugs wiggle loose on the engine harness causing that code to be thrown, along with the actual sensors being dirty with build up maybe you could take them out and see if there is any oil on them to be wiped off?

Regardless changing the oil is a god way to rule out the first / worst situation.

No problem a sure fire way to rule it out is send a sample of the oil out to be tested, though it sounds like it could be a electrical problem where the plug may be coming loose faulting the code, or something of that nature.

Are you able to swap the cam position sensors too see if the code follows the banks?
