Owning at Auto X

This past weekend there was a local Auto X that I participated in. I have done 3 events so far, so still a bit of a noob. The first 2 I drove like a grandpa still learning the car. This past weekend was a different story. I am classed as NXB which is a stock STI. I have a drop in filter and axleback but they don't give me any points or bump me up.

In my class was a buddies tuned Evo X, with springs, exhaust, ect....putting down close to 300whp. Also in the class was 2 M3s, a Chevelle, and a civic with some work done to it.

Anyway, I smoked everyone by about 2 seconds. Goes to show the driver mod is essential, can't wait to get some coilovers, sways, endlinks, and tires. I plan on owning the rest of the crowd next season.

Nice :)

You tuned for the drop-in filter?
No I am not.

I don't know if I'll do any engine mods just because I'm worried about the ringland issues. I don't plan on owning the car past its warranty life so I'll just stick to the suspension mods. Planning on getting at 2015 when they come around, maybe waiting till the 2016 models just so all the bugs are worked out.
Nice work! Especially beating the Evo, thats always great.

Half the guys here will scold you for not tuning for the drop in

I'd at least do stage 1 since the stock tune is pretty bad.
a chevelle?!

what year? my father's 1970 is a boat i would never dream of an auto x with that thing

That sure would be exciting though! Can you imagine how scary/awesome that would be?!
Ummm. Kind of damage is car receiving on the paint? I cant image rocks, dirt cant be good for paint and looks. Kindly inform.
What years were the M3's????

Chevelles can be built into track monsters because of modern coil over tubular suspension upgrades and brake kits that are also available for lots of brand muscle cars now...even AMC's!

Sounds like a blast...watch out for those V6 mustangs;):D:lol:
