I believe Prodrive has already opened up a location in CA. Can't remember where I read it, possibley the Prodrive site. Sorry...know it sounds like a rumour, but that is my best recollection.

why be normal.....drive an STi.

According to a lot of the stuff the people in SCCA pro rally are posting, they have established a shop in Michigan.

Prodrive USA seems to be, at least for right now, only targetted at the Subaru SCCA Pro Rally team here in the states. I'm hoping that they start offering consumer level parts and things too.
(Especially since I could just drive right over for an install)

They DEFINETLY I am sure will be producing stuff for consumers- what I am not sure- but there will be some stuff.

I would like to see a PPP for the US STi that takes it to 340HP out the door. :D That would make JJ happy, oh yes it would. :)

Prodrive USA does have a location in CA (near Irvine)... It's not a rumor, as I've been there. 8)

Some other thread discussed that it would probably be up to a year or so after the initial release of the STi before we'd see some decent aftermarket parts. I think it might've been discussed in the Petersen Preview threads since Prodrive reps were there. Someone asked them if they had prodrive parts for the STi and they said "not yet, not until we get to look at the ECU"

So definitely we well be getting some form of PPP, it'll just be a matter of time. All the more reason for me to wait. (Very happy with my bug-eyed WRX anyway :) )

But that would be bad ass if i could to get the car in the range! and spank alot of sports cars!

Yesterday, I spoke with one of the folks at Irvine Subaru who handles sale of aftermarket parts. I asked if Prodrive would have an STi performance package availabe at the STi's launch, as it did for the U.K. STi launch last fall. He said that he had no information on when such would be available (he said a Prodrive performance package for the WRX, not the STi, was enroute now from the U.K.). He also said that the Prodrive STi performance package would NOT be covered under the U.S. Subaru warranty; the U.K. STi performance package does NOT void the U.K. Subaru warranty only because U.K. Subaru is owned by an individual, and he decided that installation of the STi performance package would not void the warranty he offers with U.K. Subarus. Too bad for us, because the not-voiding-the-warranty feature of the Prodrive STi performance package was a most attractive feature to me.

but on the other hand, the stock warranty is 30k miles, right? we'll all likely have burned that up in 18 months. (well, we put 30k on our '00 outback wagon in 18 months. the first three years i had my '91 se-r, i did 95k miles!) a ppp/sti might start showing by then. perfect timing, to my mind. unless....people are going to get the extended warranty.

FasStAsS_sTi - 60K/6 years? where you been? Subaru has always been 36K/3 years as far as I know...yeah it sucks, but then I guess if you're planning to mod it but don't want to void the warranty, well, you don't have to wait 6 years :-?
